The Federal Government on Wednesday granted Nigerian citizenship to 335 foreigners who had earlier applied.
The 335 were chosen from the 500 applications received by the government.
Interior Minister Abdulrahman Dambazzau disclosed this to State House correspondents after the FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the approval followed the recommendation of an advisory committee which he chaired, comprising representatives of the Department of State Security and Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice.
Dambazzau said the committee received 500 applications for citizenship out of which 335 were granted. He also stated that those granted, 245 applied for citizenship by naturalisation and 90 by registration.
He said in considering the applications, the committee adhered to the revelant provisions of the constitution.
